House of Compassion & Rest
Helping children feel safe enough to recover.
Trauma-informed support for children, caregivers, and families under stress. Children are deeply affected by fear, instability, violence, displacement, grief, and prolonged stress — even when they do not always have words for what they are feeling. Some become withdrawn. Some become aggressive or fearful. Some struggle with sleep, emotional regulation, learning, attachment, or trust. House of Compassion & Rest provides trauma-informed support that helps children and caregivers move toward greater safety, emotional stability, trusted relationships, healthy routines, and connected recovery support.
Children recover best when they feel safe again
Children recover inside relationships, routines, and environments that help them feel:
- •Protected
- •Emotionally supported
- •Connected
- •Seen
- •Safe enough to begin regulating stress again
House of Compassion & Rest creates structured spaces where children and caregivers can receive support through trauma-informed activities, emotional learning, caregiver guidance, and connected care pathways. The goal is not simply activity — the goal is helping children and families regain stability, trust, emotional safety, and healthier daily functioning after prolonged stress or crisis.
What the program provides
Child Emotional Support & Group Activities
Structured trauma-informed activities helping children express emotions, strengthen coping, rebuild trust, and experience safer peer and adult connection.
Emotional Learning Through Play & Creativity
Children process stress differently than adults. Guided play, movement, storytelling, creativity, and emotional learning help children communicate feelings, regulate stress, and rebuild emotional safety.
Caregiver & Parenting Support
Support helping caregivers better understand child distress, emotional reactions, stress responses, attachment, routines, and parenting under pressure.
Trauma-Informed Group Support
Safe group environments designed to strengthen emotional regulation, coping skills, routines, peer connection, and family wellbeing.
Safeguarding & Protection Awareness
Programs integrate safeguarding awareness, child protection considerations, safe participation practices, and referral awareness.
Referral & Connected Care Pathways
When deeper support is needed, families may be connected to counseling, protection pathways, psychosocial services, healthcare, or additional EMERGE programs.

Care that supports the whole family
Children do not recover alone. Family stress, caregiver exhaustion, instability, grief, financial pressure, displacement, and emotional overwhelm all affect a child's sense of safety and development. House of Compassion & Rest strengthens both children and the adults caring for them — helping families move toward greater emotional stability, healthier relationships, safer routines, and connected support.
