Mental Health & Psychosocial Support

Healing cannot wait for stability.

Arabic-language care and psychosocial services for people who face real barriers to help.

Purpose

EMERGE expands access to mental health and psychosocial care across MENA through Arabic-language counseling, online services, clinical and community-based response where available, group programming, caregiver aid, supervision, and responsible referral.

The challenge

Many people affected by crisis face barriers to MHPSS: stigma, cost, distance, insecurity, language, limited services, family pressure, and lack of trusted care. For women and girls, refugees, displaced families, children, caregivers, and people in sensitive situations, these can compound. Care must be reachable, confidential, culturally grounded, supervised, and honest about its limits.

Focus of care

  • Arabic-language counseling and therapy where qualified professionals are available.
  • Online care through structured intake, privacy safeguards, and referral boundaries.
  • Clinical services in Lebanon where verified and available.
  • Community-based psychosocial and trauma-informed group programming for adults, caregivers, and families.
  • Child and adolescent pathways where qualified child-focused care is available.
  • Supervision, referral quality, and practice standards strengthened through THRC.

THRC role

THRC, the Trauma Healing Resource Center, is EMERGE's specialized center for trauma healing and mental health and psychosocial care, strengthening direct services, training, supervision, group and individual sessions, child and adult psychosocial programming, emergency-response trauma response, House of Compassion & Rest child and caregiver aid, referral quality, and safe practice across MENA.

Goals

  • Expand access to safe, sustained care for people who cannot easily reach in-person services.
  • Accompany longer care journeys through intake, follow-up, supervision, and referral.
  • Protect privacy, consent, dignity, and confidentiality in every care pathway.
  • Clarify next steps when needs require emergency, medical, legal, or specialized protection services beyond EMERGE's role.

Who we serve

Arabic-speaking adults, women and girls, refugees, displaced families, caregivers, children, adolescents, and people affected by crisis, grief, violence, displacement, and prolonged instability who face barriers to safe care.
